In 2011, following the loss of his mother to pancreatic cancer, Luca Turrini started the OUTRUNCANCER campaign, a series of running events to raise awareness and funds for cancer prevention studies and programs.

In March 2012 Luca completed his challenge to run one marathon in each of the twenty Italian regions in 29 days raising $15,000 in donations for cancer research.

Started as a lead-up event to the italian marathons challenge, the OUTRUNCANCER CORPORATE MARATHON has since become the flag event of the OUTRUNCANCER campaign. The event sees work colleagues from various corporations teaming up to complete a marathon (42.2km) on a treadmill.

The two half-day 2012 and 2013 editions, held in only one gym in Sydney, have seen more than 200 participants raising over A$60,000 in donations for charity.
Inspired by Luca's story and passion for the cause, many participants are now regular runners and follow a more health conscious life style.

The enormous success of the events and people positive feedback have encouraged Luca to invest on a project to scale the OUTRUNCANCER CORPORATE MARATHON Australia-wide.
Most importantly, to continue to work on OUTRUNCANCER's vision to create awareness about the relationship between life-style and cancer risk and inspire people to make choices that reduce their chances to develop cancer.
